How we work

Our aim at Stevensen Business Lawyers is to not just be your preferred lawyers for all your businesses’ legal issues, but to have you consider us part of your team, part of your decision making and your success. We don’t get side tracked with family law, conveyancing or the current trend of pre-nuptial agreements. We are passionate about business, small business, and supporting you to success in all these areas.

Approachable

  • We will be friendly and professional in the way we relate to you.
  • The lawyer you meet with will handle your case personally from start to finish and not delegate your case to associates with less experience.

Well-informed

  • We listen to you and draw on our experience in commercial transactions.
  • Our Solicitors are chosen for their breadth of experience in commercial law, contracts and litigation.

Strong advocates for our clients

  • We empower small businesses to access quality commercial law advice and legal representation in their dealings with others including any disputes with larger enterprises.

Budget-conscious

  • We provide value-for-money legal services for small businesses.
  • We estimate upfront the legal costs involved in your matter and we aim to fairly bill for our costs with fixed price fees wherever possible

Solutions-focused

  • We have a pragmatic, commonsense approach aiming to cover practical solutions as well as your possible options under the law.
  • We offer direct and to-the-point advice aiming to identify the weaknesses as well as the strengths of your case.

Teamwork and co-operation

  • We ask you to clearly communicate your goals and expectations and keep us updated so we can get the best results.
  • We work together with other allied specialists when needed such as accountants, family lawyers, business coaches, architects and engineers.

Ethical

  • We promise integrity and respect in our dealings with others.
  • We are strongly committed to abiding by the Law Society New South Wales Statement of Ethics in everything we do.
  • We source environmentally friendly office resources.

Statement of Ethics (12/2003)

Proclaimed by the Council of the Law Society of New South Wales 11 December 2003

The true profession of law is based on an ideal of honourable service*.

We acknowledge the role of our profession in serving our community in the administration of justice. We recognize that the law should protect the rights and freedoms of members of society. We understand that we are responsible to our community to observe high standards of conduct and behaviour when we perform our duties to the courts, our clients and our fellow practitioners.

Our conduct and behaviour should reflect the character we aspire to have as a profession.

This means that as individuals engaged in the profession and as a profession:

  1. We primarily serve the interests of justice.
  2. We act competently and diligently in the service of our clients.
  3. We advance our clients' interests above our own.
  4. We act confidentially and in the protection of all client information.
  5. We act together for the mutual benefit of our profession.
  6. We avoid any conflict of interest and duties
  7. We observe strictly our duty to the Court of which we are officers to ensure the proper and efficient administration of justice

We seek to maintain the highest standards of integrity, honesty and fairness in all our dealings.
