Our Team

Stevensen Business Lawyers, located in Marrickville in Inner West Sydney, was started in 2006 by Tamira Stevensen, Senior Commercial Lawyer / Litigator. We employ only experienced lawyers and barristers.

Tamira assists clients by providing professional, personalised legal advice and representation for small businesses, including:

  • Negotiating, reviewing and updating contracts of all types, drawing on her many years experience, including in large transactions;
  • Providing strong advocacy and legal representation to clients in business disputes and commercial litigation.

In Employment Law matters, Peter Krockenberger draws on his many years’ experience in a specialist employment advocacy team, providing advice and representation in employment disputes.

We will draw together an experienced project team to suit your specific needs for more significant disputes. Our affiliates include accountants, business advisors, family lawyers, mortgage and financial planners, barristers, and legal specialists. If we can’t assist you, we can put you in touch with someone who can.

Our experience and pragmatic approach to solving business problems mean we can be strong advocates for small business people in negotiating contracts or litigating and resolving disputes with their business partners, suppliers, or customers.

Drawing upon 30 years of corporate and commercial law experience, I provide common-sense legal advice to entrepreneurial SMEs who want a personalised service to protect their business interests. I am a contract specialist and business disputes lawyer based in Sydney.

As a determined senior commercial lawyer and litigator, my priority is to understand your business, so I can give you trusted legal advice resulting in the best possible outcome, such as assisting you in winning multi-million dollar engineering tenders. There’s no need to worry about hefty consultancy costs as I charge fixed upfront fees or am available as a freelance legal counsel.

Using my top law firm experience, I offer a bespoke legal service that delivers commercially-savvy solutions and contracts. While working with countless businesses across a wide variety of industries, I have developed contracts for complex commercial transactions, drafted customer-facing contracts on behalf of large-scale IT suppliers, helped start-ups build up their contract portfolio prior to a public listing, and empowered franchisees by improving the terms of the license or franchise agreement. My goal is to empower you to make informed decisions by giving professional jargon-free legal counsel and personalised business contracts.

My areas of specialty:

Dispute Resolution & Litigation

As a highly experienced commercial litigator, I take you through a step-by-step process to clarify your legal position and provide recommendations about the best way forward while minimising the stress. I can advise and represent you in any business law dispute to provide practical solutions in line with your objectives. I have represented clients in litigation overturning unfair contracts using Australian Consumer Law and equity law, and helped clients resolve business partnership disputes by negotiating a final financial settlement.

With a team, I prosecuted a complex case on behalf of a large landowner against a developer achieving a multi-million dollar payout based on expert evidence and cutting-edge legal arguments on the loss of business opportunity.

Legal Advice for SMEs

I am the principal of Stevensen Business Lawyers, also known as SBL, one of the first Sydney-based boutique commercial law firms providing upfront fee services. SBL offers a bespoke legal service to provide ongoing expert legal advice on a freelance basis. This gives you the opportunity to have a legal advisor on your side to ensure your growing business takes advantage of opportunities while managing risk proactively.

Some of the benefits for business owners include negotiating improved leasing terms for commercial and retail shop tenants, identifying risk areas in various commercial documentation, including supply agreements, franchises and leases, and providing strategic advice in commercial disputes, including advocating for the client’s case and achieving financial settlement without litigation.

Business Contracts

After identifying your business goals, I write easy-to-understand business contracts and commercial agreements that minimise your risk and maximise your protection. With more than 20 years’ experience, I have developed contracts for complex commercial transactions including prepared customer-facing contracts for large-scale IT suppliers, and structured and drafted company documents to attract investment for inventors. I have renegotiated many contracts for growing businesses dealing with larger industry players and complex agreements, resulting in improved terms and financial benefits.
